Since version 2.7.3, apulSoft apQualizr2 can import a type of configuration text file that is shared between many applications.

One of them is AutoEq, a web application to calculate correction curves for headphones.

In AutoEq, your headphones type, a target curve, and a target application can be selected.

Some target application settings allow exporting the settings in the aforementioned .txt format. "EqualizerAPO ParametericEq" leads to ten bands and a text file like this:

The downloaded file can be loaded into apQualizr2 v2.7.3 or better using the import entry on the preset menu or using drag and drop of the .txt file:

The curve matches the yellow "Equalizer" curve in AutoEq.

One thing to note is that apQualizr2 uses bands with frequency responses matched to analog target curves. To get a curve that matches correctly all the way up to 20kHz, AutoEq (and similar software) needs to be set to use a very high sample rate. This lessens the effects of the expected bilinear transform.

Using the mixed phase correction engine of apQualizr2, almost linear phase headphone correction with little latency becomes possible.

Another equalizer design application that can export the .txt file configs is REW (Room EQ Wizard).
